Tarabband hosts some of the most established musicians from the Swedish folk and world music scene. Finally, the renowned Malmö band releases its debut record. ‘Ya Sidi’ contains
10 newly
written songs in Arabic. An English booklet with the lyrics is
enclosed.
The
music travels from Baghdad via Cairo to Malmö, it mixes Sufism with
pop and folk music and settles in Tarab, the common denominator.
Tarab is an Arabic term for the ecstasy that can appear when music
and emotions merges.
